17 Norwegian-funded automated border control machines were formally opened at the Vaclav Havel International Airport in Prague on January 18. The so-called e-gates will accelerate the control of travel documents and strengthen security measures at the airport. The Norwegian Embassy was present at the opening as the Norway Grants funded €1.84 million of the project.

Thanks to CZK 30 million in support from Norway Grants, the National Gallery could recently finish an almost two-year reconstruction of the monastery of St. Agnes of Bohemia in Prague. In addition to the gardens, the public can now visit the new exhibit inside the monastery, which was founded in 1231. More than 100 participants from the Czech Republic and Norway turned up when the Czech Ministry of Finance in early October arranged a large-scale conference dedicated to Norway Grants. The goal of the one-day brainstorm was to present the progress in the implementation of the Grants during the last period (2009-2014), and also to discuss the lessons learnt and examples of best practice.

The official premiere of the new documentary film Planet Czechia took place on Wednesday 16th November. Production of the movie was part of a project “Nature, who cares?”, which was financed by the Norway Grants and carried out in co-operation with a Norwegian Partner GRID Arendal. The premiere was attended by Vegar Andreassen, Deputy Ambassador to the Czech Republic.
