Department of Paediatrics has new medical devices

03.09.2009 // The Regional Hospital in Usti nad Labem held on 25 August a press conference on the project " Neuro-intensive Care Centre for Children with Specific Problems." The project, which is implemented by the Children's Clinic of the Masaryk Hospital, was financed through the  Norwegian Financial Mechanism by the grant over € 400.000.

The aim of the project is to increase the capacity and improve the quality of the healthcare for children with specific neurological problems, who are hospitalized after severe injuries, or are suffering from disabilities of the central nervous system.

The result of the project is to improve the survival prognosis and quality of life of the children. A part of such therapy is also the rehabilitative care and psychological assistance. The clinic has therefore purchased not only the machines for immediate diagnosis and treatment, such as EEG monitors and devices for artificial ventilation, but also rehabilitation devices and equipment for the psychological laboratory. A part of the project is also a training for the health personnel who will use this device.
