UMB is a university with 3150 students located in the city of Ås, half an hour from Oslo. UMB’s main objectives are to be a major player in the field of life sciences, focusing on the core disciplines Biology, Environment, Food, Land use and Natural Resource Management, as well as associated and technical subjects.  As a student of UMB you can expect high quality, frequent teacher- student interaction and a pleasant social and physical environment.
UMB has the highest percentage of international students in the country (18 percent of the students), making it the most international and multi-cultural university in Norway. About 240 of the 650 courses at the Bachelor and Master level are taught in English, as well as many PhD level courses. One Bachelor and 11 Master programs are conducted fully in English. Besides theoretical and scientific education, UMB emphasizes the importance of practical training, which among other thing implies that studying abroad is encouraged in most programs.

UMB is also renowned for its excellent student environment. As a student of UMB you can participate in 70 different associations and clubs and you will have access to excellent student facilities including sports centers and skiing tracks.
Applications for master and bachelor studies for fall 2011 are due by February 1st, 2011, for exchange students March 1st, send your applications!
