New food blog to boost awareness of New Nordic Food

02.09.2011 // A new network for food bloggers is coming... nordicfeed.com will be the place where food writers from all over the world get the latest on New Nordic Food.

The food festival Copenhagen Cooking celebrates Nordic gastronomy and is becoming a leading forum for New Nordic Food - for everyday and party time. A new initiative has been launched in conjunction with this year's festival which will bring together food bloggers with an interest in Nordic food from around the world.

The Nordic Council of Ministers hosted a seminar which was the starting gun for the new network on 26 August.

Chefs Andreas Viestad from Norway and Trine Hahnemann from Denmark gave enthusiastic presentations on (New) Nordic Food past and present, along with Simon Jeppson from the Nordic gene bank Nordgen, who described the partnership between researchers and chefs. Bloggers from Europe and USA met with people from Chinese TV and with Danish dieticians.

"The aim of nordicfeed.com is to become the primary reference point for bloggers, journalists and food writers from around the world when it comes to New Nordic Food", said one of the initiators, Head Press Officer Bent Bøkman, at the launch.

New Nordic Food is just as much about experiences and stories of food as it is about good food and tasty ingredients. Those behind Nordicfeed.com hope that it will help to communicate this to a wider audience and act as a hub for food enthusiasts with a sense for Nordic pleasures, from all over the world.

The Nordic Council of Ministers have funded the project in the initial phase but it is a private and independent initiative.
