15th Brutal Assault will welcome seven Norwegian bands

After only four months, the Norwegian nu-jazz band Jaga Jazzist is coming back to the Czech republic. On July 17, they will play at the festival Colours of Ostrava, the biggest international music event in the Czech republic and one of the biggest music festivals in Central Europe.

The big international Gustav Mahler Celebration will take place on 7 July in Kaliště by Jihlava on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the composer. The celebration will culminate with the open air concert with the renowned Norwegian soprano Marita Sølberg. The producer of the event is Nordisk film, co-producers are Czech TV, NRK TV and others.

The International Ibsen Award for 2010 has been given to the Norwegian playwright Jon Fosse. The award will be presented on 10 September during the Ibsen Festival at the National Theatre in Oslo.

The Norwegian band The Whitest Boy Alive is among the best representatives of so-called indie pop. They are coming to Prague to give a concert on 14 June at the Palac Akropolis.
